TriggerFoods Privacy Policy

Last Updated: 11 September 2026

TriggerFoods is operated from Australia (“TriggerFoods”, “we”, “us”, or “our”).

This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, process, disclose, and protect personal information when you use the TriggerFoods website, application, checkout pages, email communications, and related services.

TriggerFoods is a food and symptom self-tracking tool that allows users to record meals, symptoms, timing information, and related observations, and uses software and artificial intelligence to identify patterns within the information users provide.

By using TriggerFoods, you acknowledge the practices described in this Privacy Policy.

If you have questions about this Privacy Policy or your personal information, contact us at: [email protected]

1. Information We Collect

We collect information that you provide directly to us, information generated through your use of TriggerFoods, and limited technical information required to operate and improve the service.

Account and Contact Information

When you create an account, make a purchase, join our email list, contact us, or otherwise interact with TriggerFoods, we may collect information such as:

- name

- email address

- account information

- purchase information

- communications you send to us

- marketing preferences

Food, Symptom and Health-Related Information

TriggerFoods allows you to voluntarily enter information about your food intake, symptoms, symptom severity, timing, digestive experiences, dietary patterns, and other observations.

This information may include health-related or sensitive information.

We only ask you to provide information that is relevant to the operation of TriggerFoods. You control what information you choose to enter into the app.

Where consent is legally required for the collection or processing of sensitive or health-related information, we rely on your consent.

Voice Recordings and Transcriptions

TriggerFoods allows you to log information using your voice.

When you use the voice logging feature, your device temporarily creates an audio recording so that your speech can be transcribed into text.

TriggerFoods does not intentionally store your raw audio recordings.

The audio is temporarily transmitted to our transcription service provider for speech-to-text processing. Once transcription is completed, TriggerFoods continues processing the resulting text rather than storing the original audio recording.

TriggerFoods currently uses Groq for speech transcription.

We have enabled Zero Data Retention within our Groq account for this processing.

The resulting text transcription may be stored as part of your TriggerFoods diary and may include food entries, symptom entries, timing information, notes, and related structured data.

2. How We Use Artificial Intelligence

TriggerFoods uses artificial intelligence to help interpret entries, organize information, identify patterns, answer user questions, and provide features such as trigger analysis and suggestions about information that may be useful to investigate further.

We currently use the OpenAI API to provide AI-powered processing.

Relevant text, food entries, symptom information, timing information, diary context, and related data may be transmitted to OpenAI when necessary to provide these features.

We do not intentionally send payment card information to our AI providers.

AI-generated information may contain errors and should not be treated as medical advice, diagnosis, treatment, or proof that a particular food causes a particular symptom.

3. How We Use Your Information

We may use personal information to:

- create and manage your TriggerFoods account

- record and organize your food and symptom history

We do not use your health-related information for unrelated purposes such as selling it to data brokers.

4. Where Your Information Is Stored

TriggerFoods uses Supabase to provide database, authentication, and backend infrastructure.

This means personal information stored in TriggerFoods, including account information and food or symptom logs, may be stored outside Australia and outside the country in which you live.

Our website is built using GoHighLevel, which may use cookies and related technologies as part of providing its services. HighLevel provides cookie-consent tools for funnels and websites.

We may need to verify your identity before completing a deletion request.

Deletion requests may be subject to limited exceptions where we are legally required or reasonably permitted to retain certain information.

Information held by third-party providers may also be subject to their own legal retention obligations.

11. Accessing or Correcting Your Information

You may request access to personal information we hold about you or ask us to correct information that is inaccurate, incomplete, or out of date.

To make a request, email: [email protected]

We may ask you to verify your identity before providing access to or changing personal information.

12. International Data Transfers

Your information may therefore be transferred to, processed in, or stored in countries outside your country of residence.

For example:

TriggerFoods database information is currently stored through Supabase infrastructure in India

other service providers may process information in countries where they or their infrastructure operate

Privacy protections may differ between countries.

Where required by applicable law, we take reasonable steps to use providers and contractual arrangements designed to protect personal information when it is processed internationally.

Australian privacy law contains specific rules around overseas disclosures of personal information where those rules apply.

13. Security

We take reasonable technical and organisational measures designed to protect personal information from unauthorised access, loss, misuse, alteration, or disclosure.

These measures include the use of third-party infrastructure providers, encrypted connections, authentication controls, and restricted access to application systems.

However, no internet-based service or electronic storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

You are responsible for protecting your account credentials and should notify us if you believe your account has been accessed without permission.

We may need to verify your identity before completing a deletion request.

Deletion requests may be subject to limited exceptions where we are legally required or reasonably permitted to retain certain information.

Information held by third-party providers may also be subject to their own legal retention obligations.

Where required by applicable law, we take reasonable steps to use providers and contractual arrangements designed to protect personal information when it is processed internationally.

Australian privacy law contains specific rules around overseas disclosures of personal information where those rules apply.
